Justice & Peace is the coordinator of Samen Hier, the first community sponsorship model in the Netherlands. The organization seeks to provide education pathways for refugee students, thereby enhancing their access to existing legal migration routes to the Netherlands. Throughout the first years of the COMET project, Justice & Peace has been building partnerships with educational institutions in the Netherlands interested in finding opportunities for education pathways. This would allow refugee students to study at Dutch universities through public-private partnerships, addressing current barriers.
Symposium: Education Pathways to the Netherlands
The symposium on 7-8 November 2024 will foster dialogue, discussion, coalition building and partnerships for all involved stakeholders. By bringing in experts, representatives of educational institutions, civil society organizations and beneficiaries of other education pathways, this symposium serves as a platform to network, building capacity and develop a unified agenda navigating the current political landscape. Ultimately, it will contribute to building an ecosystem that will lead, in the near future, to implementation of a legal pathway.
